Bohol - The Philippine's Jewel

Countryside Tour

Tagbilaran City's port is 2 hours away from the port of Cebu if you will take fast ferries like Oceanjet, Supercat and Weesam. Another option to enter Bohol is the city of Tubigon which is about an hour away from Cebu Port by Starcraft ferry.

Bohol by the way is dubbed as " Jewel of the Philippine" home to The world renowned Chocolate Hills is Bohol's famous landmark.

The sun was so high, a good vibe for a good countryside tour of the Bohol Island...
And off we go to Pier 1 to catch our earliest ferry ride via Oceanjet to Tagbilaran Port.
Onboard Oceanjet 6

We started our country side tour in Blood Compact Site.  As per all back reading, this was not the original Blood compact site though...
Blood Compact Shrine is a site for another Philippine's historical event known as Sandugo or Blood Compact between Spanish explorerMiguel Lopez de Legazpi and the then island's chieftain Datu Sikatuna. During the Spanish Colonization, a bond was sealed known as the"Treaty of Friendship" between Spaniards and Filipinos.

The sight of the green tranquil waters of the Bohol sea atop this site is really breathtaking.

Next stop, Baclayon Church.

The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon is considered to be one of the oldest
churches and one of the best preserved Jesuit build churches in the Philippines and the region. The church is made of corals from the nearby sea and egg whites were used to bond them together.

As a respect inside the church, all girls wearing shorts are required to put Tapis

Look closely and you'll see the image of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina

XZOOTIC Animal Park... A quick visit to that Python... I hate SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.... in fact I despise SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.... I cannot even type SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS  *_8

This is all I've taken inside... I saw it but really it scared the hell out of me!!!
Whew!!! What a relief... getting outta here

BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY ...nothing much here.... but all about butterfly....

Tinkerbell!!! Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ

LOBOC RIVER

Famished, a feast was waiting for us in the floating resto in LOBOC river... variety of local food was served... our group was the very first guest to arrive on this particular Floating Resto.

my childhood fave pancit canton was one of the option...

We finished eating before we headed off for the cruise...

what a sight to see.......
Tinikling - A Filipino Folk Dance, imitating the movement of a native bird called Tikling.

The Cruise lasted for 45 minutes.

After satisfying our empty tummy, it's time to meet our little brothers, the smallest primate... The Tarsier... another Bohol's pride.

Tarsiers are haplorrhine primates of the family Tarsiidae

It was really a hard climb here... and it seemed that our group wasn't lucky enough at all. This nocturnal creature were nowhere to be found. There were a few guides leading us to where they were. But it was just a hard catch after all. A few could be seen, about 7 Tarsiers that was... but they're just far from our reach... (tsk, tsk) We all gave up... We decided to carry on....

On our way to the highlight of the Country Side Tour... A quick stop to Man-Made Forest

2 KM stretch of densely planted Mahogany Trees, located in the border of Loboc and Bilar

This was one unexpected shot indeed... I was in the verge of asking our tour guide about a ship house that was featured in Rated K... when he blurted out ... "We our about to pass by a new tourist attraction here in Bohol...It was a dream house of a retired Sea Captain...."

Finally... Chocolate Hills
As the saying goes " You've never been to Bohol, if you've never been to Chocolate Hills"

It's time to feast our eyes with yet again another nature's beauty, the grandeur of all Bohol... The Chocolate Hills...It was quite true that once you step here you will wonder how this hills were formed almost in uniform size... it was one truly amazing creation.

The stairwell leading atop the highest hill was fortunately covered (like!like!like!)when we visited unlike those I've seen online... tourist must have had a real hard time climbing up before, unlikeUnlikeUnlike

Great Photo Ops!!!

We did not take the stairs on our way down, instead we went this way.......

Before heading to Whites & Greens... we have to buy the usual Pasalubong... And they say for best finds of the cheapest pasalubong in the region... you have to take one battle 【ツ】

The Hanging Bridge.....

I'm afraid of heights... ARVEE's afraid of heights... too shameful but its the sad truth.... packed with all the possible guts I/ we could get...... after the rest of the group have already passed and another group .....  and another.... we waited until all new group of tourist came and passed by... we then embraced another challenge of our lives!!! We conquered our fear..... Yehey!!!

A quick stop at a convenience store for our supplies overnight including drinks, snacks and such and such.

Panglao is 30 minutes away fromt Bohol's Capital. Tagbilaran City, . It boasts white sand beaches which they say is also comparable to that of Boracay Island.

White Sands and Beaches Resort is located in Panglao along with Bohol Beach Club and Bohol Bee farm. For budget conscious like our group we highly recommend this place, not only of its unlimited mineral water and coffee but basically because of its beach front resort. You can never find any other resort as affordable as this that offers a good view of the prestigious Panglao beach. ( as per our back reading and from our tour guide Naldix as well )

A long and winding road with lots and lots of malnourished cows lead us to the resort... You will never be lost, a big signage can be found anyway...
The resort was totally cool, with luscious greens, serenity of the blue seas and tranquil white of the sands...it's  truly whites and greens
AND BLUES =)

That's Naldix!!!
