Happy Pawtee!

It was our first time to celebrate our dog's special day in full blast that we extended an effort pulling off a birthday pawtee like this.... it was a success, indeed! 5 little fur babies for his guest was really phenomenal than no other dogs around for his first birthday! In addition to the loot bags and spaghetti as what other normal people does on their kid's first birthday...... I made 2 special treats, one for human and one for our cute fur babies....

It was one exhausting day indeed! I started hitting the kitchen at 6 in the AM and unfortunately wasn't able to meet my 12pm deadline. Pawtee supposed to start at 2pm but I forced to move it at 3. Nevertheless, I have to finish everything before 2PM. I felt nausea in between the works! I thought I won't be able to decorate the cake....... but I tried my best to compose myself... to be able to finish my 4 course Simple meal. Good thing, I had my sister and partner to lend their hand on some of the kitchen works. It was just that I was really OCCUPIED with what to do really with the cake. Initially, I intended to cut it as a bone since I wasn't able to get a bone-shaped cake pan. With time constraints, I did not cut it anyway, with the fear that I might end up having a pawtee without a cake! With Plan B handy, I just decided to pipe out some icing  creating a bone shape and scribbled IKIE's name on the center of it! And tadah! there I was.... with hoorays and with all smiles with my work! Not that polished though..... but I know for a fact that taste wise.... it was awesome (that was of course according to some of my friends and my number one and ultimate followers.... my partner and my sister***)

After the cake, I was faced with the battle of finishing the spaghetti sauce and making my home made garlic bread. After which I made sure that the chicken was cooked as I planned... Crispy outside and juicy in the inside! We had some trouble with the cheese stick though.... the cheese my li'l sis purchased was a quick melt so it always melt its way out of the lumpia wrapper... but we managed to fix it anyway! Wjoahhhhhh! At almost 2:30PM thank GOD, we're ALMOST done!

We packed everything that we needed, and headed our way to the party venue... Anyway, it was supposed to be done in AROMAPET in Tomas Morato where we usually take Ikie for his grooming but I decided not to anymore... I guess "WHEN FRUGALITY strikes again!" And so I asked my friend if we can celebrate the pawtee at their humble abode and they we're so kind enough to extend their place for the said celebration... by the way, it was the humble and very cozy home of the great Walter Bollozos (Philippine Star's in-house photographer). And with that in fact...... everybody expected a good old photoshoot after the pawtee itself.....

Again, BabyLove....... haPpy biRthday!

***I remembered how I bully my youngest sister of being so damn HEALTHY ( I mean so fat!) she answered back "If it wasn't of your constant delicious baking ATE back when I was still your li'l baby.... I wouldn't have gone this big :(    I'm sowee sissy! No one will taste but you guys!

My whereabouts?

GoodMuahning!!! I'm so sorry if I haven't been able to log in here for a very looooooong time....... guess been OCCUPIED lately. I owe a lot of good things to share, been outta here for as long as I remember... All Saint's, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's and Salute Graduates passed. A good six months came and definitely I've got tons and tons of stories to tell....

So, I was out of the kitchen messin' it up again.... and what's cookin'? nah..... it was really BAKING that's been keepin' me hell of a busyBee. I was always on the verge of getting into writing but I was always taken aback.... or maybe I was just too lazy to carry it on blogging not until I realized that I needed to... just some sort of release. Anyways, it's been six months since I've placed my entry here PLUS I still have to finish OUR PALAWAN TRIP... Actually I had a journal about the said trip well written or hidden somewhere... I dunno where?

Sorreeee, If I was busy doing all of these everyday of my life since February, that I almost forgot that I also needed to write..... Anyway, I would really love to tell you more about this sweet treats later on..... For now, be enticed with all these....

In all honesty, when I was asked to bake so abruptly last February this year... I did not have any second thoughts of doing it.  After all it's been a while or it's been half of my life since I last bake. If I remember it right I baked.... my last one was back in 2000. I was 20 (Whoah... time flies really fast) I baked my family's fave Sunday Goodies (as what we call it) I made a BANANA CAKE. My oh my... and I can say I MISSED IT SO MUCH! Let's just say I dedicated most of my free time now baking for my friends and workmates... And I therefore say it was a sure fire hit on the floor (I'm not bragging, but it's like music to my ears when they say that...."they liked my goodies so much that some become really addicted to it"... funny how each individuals have their own favorite...)

So much of that kitchen stuff.... Lemme just say a few things of my whereabouts this past 6 months.... Last entry was of course PALAWAN (Consider it as my unfinished business.... but I'll try to find some time real soon) November? not much been busy with Ikie... our beloved Yorkie, our furbaby, the apple of our eye and that most of our SALARY was alloted for him.... anyway, we've been trying to train him as much as SHE could... and he's learning. And by the way.... he's turning a year older this MAY.... so I guess, a few of our income will be going towards his PAWTY....

So here he is, all grown up... IKIE's photoshoot with the great Walter Bollozos back in December 2012 in time for the Holidays. After which he had an accidental fall... (Another 5K out of our pocket for VET... good heavens, there was no FRACTURE, but I did made a good SHRIEK when I heard him uttered a loud cry) I SO LOVE YOU BABY LOEV!!! please don't fall again... EVER! please!!!

ADORABLE PUP!muah

Oh, I almost forgot.... Ikie's gone triCK or treating too at the Skydome last October 29th (I guess) and we let him join the PETRIFYING TRAIL where he was the LIL URSULA... my sister made this costume for our baby boy (And mind you, I really dunno why sissy chose this color... perhaps, she forgot that our furbaby is indeed a boy or maybe this was the only available fabric she got.... MAYBE... whatever HE WAS REALLY CUTE IN THAT COSTUME)  And he was surely regarded as a GURL here! Hey Look how tired he was.... he was also asked for snapshots by petlovers too CLICK here and there...then the PARADE came... he'd sat and slouched like this.... Maybe it was just too heavy for his teeny weeny body... sorry baby, we'll not do this to you again... PROMISE!

And so the HOLIDAYS came... nothing much, Oh I guess I attended my first Christmas Party at our office after 7 Holidays.... finally... it was held in SMX... well it was one hell of a party...

So my much awaited month... OUR HK-MO trip... I'll tell you more about it sometime soon... whoahhh think I have to snooze a bit... I'm starting to get a doze of sleepyNESS here... till then

                                                                                         TATA BABE!!!

PET BLESSING @ The Park

I only had a 2 week notice since I've gotten the news about the PET BLESSING in EASTWOOD from a friend and we did not have any second thoughts of not attending... It was something that we've been meaning to do with OUR PLAYFUL YORKIE since we got him last July.

And so made sure that Ikie's vaccination before the Blessing was up to date. We even had a grooming done 2 days before October 7 came...

Finally... Sunday!!! OCTOBER 7, 2012!!! In commemoration of St. Francis of Assisi, The Patron Saint of Animals, Eastwood City held its 8th annual PET BLESSING in partnership of PAWS ( Philippine Animal Welfare Society )

Registration started at 12 noon but we did not intend to be there that early anyways, it would really strain Ikie's energy if we did! We arrived at 3PM, not much of a crowd though they said the program or the procession would start by 4PM. It drizzled and so there was a bit of a delay... (good thing, since my allergy struck once again... I had an itsy bitsy of my time to rest before the MASS and the BLESSING started)

                                              Our Playful Yorkie: IKIE BOY

This was my first ever DOG EVENT that I attended to during adulthood. Since I attended Catholic School, every year we celebrated St. Francis Day and a PET BLESSING every 4th of October and we were kind of required to at bring our HOUSE PETS.  I remembered bringing DapDap (our pet dog when I was in gradeschool) and Muning (the pet cat I adopted back in 5th grade, she was the li'l kitten of my LOLA's dearest cat) during one one of the celebrations back in the days. Me and my then one and only sissy Brev even asked DAD to get us lovebirds just to be able to have a pet to be blessed...

At almost 6PM probably, the MASS finally started celebrated by Fr. Joey Paras and accentuated by 92AD Chorale. During Offertory, we were serenaded by the angelic voice of Jonalyn Viray's rendition of  Bless the Beasts and the Children.

A blessing in the park

I will cherish you and care for youThe way God intended for Man to care for all His Creation
I promise that you will not feel hunger,
Fear, nor pain.
That I will not give you up in times of sickness,
The way that I know you will stand by me all the days of my life.
I will not confine you to a cage or leash
I will provide you with exercise and companionship
I will be responsible for you in a way
That my fellow human beings will not be angry at you
Nor punish you for roaming in the streets
You are God’s gift to me and to my family

Going Back to be Nocturnal & Missing the Yorkie

I missed every shift's coffee so much!!! But this doesn't mean that I missed work... Argh!!!
While trying to concentrate on my work last night, my thoughts was always with our playful Yorkie.. He was left all by himself at our blissful crib. I was really worried sick that he might not get through the night (Drama!) He used to just Barf away whenever he needed some thing... So technically, we're not able to rescue his needs... like water maybe or his nocturnal poo as well... I missed the doggie so badly that I encouraged her to go home right away without rendering our sched Overtime anymore...

He's simply adorable!!!
I tried to cast away the thought of missing the yorkie last night (honestly, I was wayOverReacting... MSoree) I frequented myself to the vendo machine to get more coffee ( a usual thingie that I do during shift, get out of the floor... walk around and get some 2 fills of coffee.. right away!) And what a wonderful way to start my week after being confined for almost a week in our blissful crib...we got a sweet treat from Mr. McDonald's!!! Despite being really full having eaten my homemade Chicken Sandwich... I did not say no McDonald's deep fried treat and their Chocolate Sundae, well who would? Sore Throat did not stop me at all to indulge to my sweet favorite!!!

Back to reality, back to work... back to being nocturnal. Hopefully I'll get through. Anyway, it'll be just 3 days and off I head to another 2 days off!!!
